I wish to draw your attention to the case of Omar Deghayes. Omar is a young man who has been imprisoned without charge or trial and apparently subjected to torture which has caused him to lose the sight of one eye.

I know that the British government would be quick to take up this case if it were in a foreign land, as the government took up the cases of Russian and Chinese dissidents and the victims of the regime in Zimbabwe.

The case is no less shocking when such actions are carried out by the United States Government at its Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

The campaign does not make any claims about guilt or innocence but believes that even if guilty of a crime, Omar Deghayes should not have been treated in this way. In fact he has not been charged with any crime.
